As a field of practice, holistic medicine draws from many disciplines, religions, and cultures to heal people, communities, and even the environment.

My name is Carol Jenkin, I define myself as the eternal student that is always picking up new tools, new skills and then paying it forward by educating and spreading awareness. I like to look at root cause resolution, and at low hanging opportunities for people to improve their health and wellness, and give them ways to track and measure their progress along the way.

This physical body serves not only as our means for participating in the world, but also as the primary channel for our contact with the present moment. Our thoughts and emotions tend to hop around in space and time, anticipating future events and remembering the past. However, our body remains tied to the present, affording a ready-made base for us in the here and now.

But first we might ask why this should matter to us. Why all the emphasis on being in the present? If the spiritual worlds encompass more than space and time, why should we be so concerned about keeping our awareness in the here and now? The simple answer: the only access to happiness, fulfillment, love, responsibility, and the deeper levels of spirituality lies in the here and now. The stronger our presence, the stronger that access can be.

Mindset - Emotional Intelligence

Your mindset is a set of beliefs that shape how you make sense of the world and yourself. It influences how you think, feel, and behave in any given situation. It means that what you believe about yourself impacts your success or failure.

Mindsets can influence how people behave in a wide range of situations in life. For example, as people encounter different situations, their mind triggers a specific mindset that then directly impacts their behavior in that situation.

Emotional awareness means knowing when feelings are present in ourselves and others. It is closely related to emotional literacy, which means being able to label feelings with specific feeling words. At its highest level it means being able to predict feelings in advance. We practice recognize emotions, witnessing them in action, accepting them, and then releasing them. This practice overtime will give you the power to be in any situation and finding peace and clarity

What is breathwork?

Breathwork encompasses various techniques that incorporate intentional use of the breath. Basically, you can learn to regulate the flow of breath to balance the body and mind.

We study the effects today – but the power of breathing has long been revered in many cultures. Practices range from simple deep breathing to more advanced methods.

Breathwork is an all-natural, at-your-fingertips way to enhance your wellbeing!

How does it work?

When we breathe consciously, the mind slows down and hones into the present moment. That causes a sense of relief, allowing us to go back to our day-to-day activities feeling clear and focused.

Even the smallest break can go a long way in boosting concentration and calmness. Breathwork gives new meaning to the term: “Take a Breather!”
